OktoberMetal Greetings! 

We want to thank and inform everybody that the 1st Metal War was a success. Besides the audience that crowed the Taverna Rock Bar, we collected almost 70 kilos of food that were given to the Social Service Secretary of Indaial in order to be donated to poor families. We thank everybody that contributed and joined us in this event.  
To have a better idea, here are some pics of the event, all of them taken by Makila Crowley.

Games of joy… games of war!

It’s in its final phase, ufh! The next album will enter the pressing process very soon. Right now the album is on the final phases of mixing and mastering. We are just waiting the quotation of the pressing company.

There is also a partnership with the company Brutal Wear in process. They will produce the official new album t-shirt. As soon as we get it ready we’ll announce it here, on Myspace, Orkut and so on.

We have two new models of t-shirts with front and back features, being one with the cover of "Rest of old..." EP and the other one with a reference to the title of the new album: Games of Joy... Games of War.

Greetings everybody! 

Finally and with satisfaction we get back with news about the new RHESTUS line-up.   

For Crom, after so many changes and problems we can start our activities again. We know that a lot of people thought that with three long time members leaving the band, we would stop, but they were wrong. Rhestus still stands and remains stronger than before! 

And as we wouldn’t like to miss this opportunity, we introduce the new line up on the picture below, highlighting the names from the left to the right: 

Richard (Bass and backing vocals), Marcão (Drums), Alex Leber (Guitar and Vocal) and Tiago (Guitar and backing vocal).  

During these months that we have been hidden, we were looking for a new one place to rehearse, adaptation and integration of the new members and the purchase of equipments to follow up with the activities and the definition of the new directions that the band will take from now on. 

All of this means a lot when we talk about a band that lives from its blood, perspiration and Metal, but we’ll soon be bothering a lot of people and doing what do best, Thrash Fucking Metal! 

Using this opportunity, we would like to say THANK YOU to some people who helped us to keep the flame alive. They are: Aline, Lu, Simone, Roberta, Jaca, Valda, Charles and respective wives, to all the friends from everywhere, who supported us, sometimes with only a phrase, sometimes with something more, so that the dream continued, A BIG THANKS!!  

Following with the news, everybody who wants to know each member better, can access the link, “Members” and check some personal influences and tastes of each one.  

On the “review” section you can also check a recent review of the album "Embryo of..." that was published last May 31st along with an article written and posted by Alessandro Cubas, entitled "Heavy Metal in Santa Catarina", proving that the album still rolls thereabout and still rocks.

Greetings! 

I want to start the month of April of 2009 with the following statement:  

" If there is no sacrifice, there is no conquest" (Silvester Stalone).  

That’s it my friends, sacrifices are big, but the conquests are big as well, that’s why in April of 2009, there are two big news on the band, so much bad as good..., even so "life goes on my fellows"!  

The first new is that two great friends and musicians are leaving the band, Jailson Oliveira (Jaca) and Charles da Silva (Chalão), something which surprised us and saddened us a lot.  

The second one is announcing that two (also) great friends and musicians, Marcos Diegel (Marcão) and Tiago Sestrem (only Tiago…), that now together with me (Fantasma) and Richard will honor the name of Rhestus and continue destroying necks from now on.  

The exit of Jaca, drummer and one of the founders of the band as well as our mate and lead guitar Chalão is exclusively due to private matters, and they will always be a part of this family.  

Marcão and Tiago are also musicians which come from of other bands as Rythual, Jailor, among others, and long time friends, what made easier the contact and the start up of the activities of rehearsals and other organizational subjects of the band.

Even so, we want to dedicate this space to our two friends and fellows who contributed so much and made Rhestus, while they were here, a band solid and recognized by its 16 years of extreme (good) noise!!!

JACA:

"Hail Friends. I am here to inform in an official way my exit of the band.  

In the first place, I want to say that it has nothing to do with the other exits of the band. The distance, that’s the one, I am sure it is the great responsible for the true exodus that there was in the band. From my side, I can say that the reasons that took me to leave the band were, the level of commitment and dedication that the band needs and that today I don't have conditions of giving anymore, besides, the geographical distance between the band members, forcing us to rehearse only biweekly and this way putting me under an obligation to spend weekends far away from home and family, which was an important point on my decision. Decision that was not taken of night to day and that was really hard to me, due to the friendship with my mates and the pleasure of playing the music of Rhestus. Even so it was a necessary attitude, because I am in another phase of my life, with wife and child that demand much more of my attention. Attention that, I repeat, I didn't have conditions to give to the band anymore, which took me to a point where I couldn’t execute the commitments demanded by the band and this, yes, frustrating and putting in risk the friendship with the other members. Friendship which I don't give up and it will continue strong forever.  

Finally, friends, Rhestus is like a son that I helped generating, forming, educating and that now I release to walk with its own legs. There’s a proverb that says: " we grow up children for the world". Yes, it is like a son, because I am one of founders and for sure I will be watching with pride, because I know about the team that Alex is setting up and I full convicted of being a team with a lot of metal running in their veins and that will affect the structures wherever they play.  

The every one who I played with and to all the great friends that always supported the band, my respect and appreciation, thank you very much. To the new guys of the new line up, good luck and have a good time, because it’s worth. To my brother Alex, force, courage and in case you need you know where I am. 

We will meet, therefore I will continue as drummer of the band Rhasalon, that is from my city, making everything easier.

"After five years of Rhestus I come here to announce my exit, I want to keep clear that these were the five more funny and gratifying years of my life. I met three guys that will be in my memories forever and forever will be my brothers, eternal family Rhestus. And to all the people that I met since I joined Rhestus, they are wonderful people, I thank all the ones who supported me. Thanks a lot. 

I wish all the best to Rhestus and that you guys conquer all the objectives and that we meet at the stages of this road and have some beers together. 

Thanks a lot Rhestus ".
