“O Heavy Metal em Santa Catarina”

http://collectorsroom.blogspot.com/2009_05_17_archive.html

After nearly a decade of existence, the RHESTUS in presenting his "debut" album, entitled "Embryo of the Endless Sands", which certainly is the most awaited work by a number of fans of Thrash Metal, mainly in Santa Catarina. I say this with the standard the public in this event where the RHESTUS involved, mainly in the Open Air event, such as ROCK RIVER. Weight, aggressiveness, speed and creativity. In short, all the ingredients necessary to create a pure Thrash Metal, reminding traces the paths by the very precursors of the'80s, including Kreator, Slayer and DESTRUCTION. The album is composed of thirteen songs, with the first to the fifth is a section of drubbing (in the right direction), all very exciting and rich in variations. The sixth song, titled "Njord Hymn," serves to give the listener a pause to neurons (because the stinger is continuing, the brain can catch fire) and is an introduction to "Big Anesthesia", continuing the massacre until the last track. At first hearing, which draws attention are the lines of guitar. Celio and Alex show to be quite entrosados and creative, with fast riffs and / or heavy, rather rotated. The voice of Alex is very aggressive and torn, but clear, making possible an understanding of the lyrics. The low, and as responsible Valda, it is not behind the guitars. In addition to pitch well chosen, he has created a line marked with distinct characteristics of most of the bands style. Jailson, the only member of the band's original formation, it seems unload all your fury on drums, and together with other members, abused the accuracy, speed and creativity. Another feature that can not be said is the graphics. The German Michael Schindler raised the idea of the title and made an enviable job, I do not see a particular layer also is a good time. Considering the national independent productions, there is no claim that. All instruments are clear and in good volume, surpassing many bands with national seal and equaling to a number of bands from outside. Is difficult to choose any music that is highlighted. Risking me to quote "Insane War", "Tsavo: The Place of Slaughter" and "Cancer". Briefly, a current band that performs a Thrash Metal in the line of the'80s, with guitars "nervous", aggressive voice (but sharp), "cuisine" to anyone by default, cover of international production and above average albums of independent national . Michigan does not need to prove anything to anybody more than it already is a barn that generates great bands every year. And the most interesting is that in all styles Santa Catarina is very well represented. Within the thrash metal we have the Rhestus, a band battle, which released its debut last year in an independent manner and gave the name of Embryo of The Endless Sand. Practically this disc is a flashback to the'80s and showing a thrash metal vein in German and Kreator to the style of the stage Endless Pleasure and Pain to Kill, ie thrash metal fast, aggressive and without firulas, totally right. At once, the "bricks" "Inside the Torn Apart" makes us shake our necks, so even if unintentional. The thing here is that disk as "the guy" who does not have time for a second stop even for breathing. So, imagine then a show of freaks (in the right direction) catarinenses? Should be a power plant! Other great songs are "Bullet in Point", "Die Like a Dog," "Tsavo: The Place of Slaughter," " Cancer "(excellent and total 80)," Doomsday "and" Eternal Sorrow. "As is typical of the eighties thrash metal, the songs have a long introduction, and they were able to overcome and insert sound of Rhestus consistently. The that draws attention are the voice of Alex Leber (parecidíssimos with the Mille Petrozza Kreator of the first discs) and low Valda. Embryo of The Endless Sands is a very good disc, with a record label could sign with the guys, after all they have to spare you grab your sound show. It is worth buying this material.

Embryo Of The Endless Sands - 02/07/2004

You do not know how I was happy to receive this cd! I know the band for years and always supported, is disseminating the Monsters of Rock or the Roadie Crew. In the demo "Heroes of the Doomsday" esbanjavam the guys have talent and professionalism with a killer sound! The hopes for this CD worth it, because it is a classic of Brazilian thrash metal! The guys got the best of thrash, such as "Kill Em'All" of Metallica, some of Destruction album and added a few nuts for the first Iron Maiden album and they all left a mark forever album that fans of Brazilian thrash metal! Give proud to hear a disc like this, I know that the guys went through various difficulties to achieve launch this cd, and it is here, with a recording above average and with a very good graphic work (the forest cover to stick). The four song demo of "Heroes ..." are present here, of course, with a new gown, and became even more powerful. The brothers of metal that were recorded this disc: Alex Leber on guitar and vocal, Celio Jr. on guitar, my big brother and Valda in the low battery Jailson. The CD starts with the song "Inside the Torn Apart" which has a power of Fire. This song is practically perfect, and even has some parties more death metal and a killer guitar break, great opening track! Ah, the riffs are animals! "Bullet in Point" is the second track, this song is much heavier than in the demo version, as well as more aggressive. The beginning of "Insane War" is sound but once the weight is loose with riffs and with a wonderful work of striking kitchen. "Die Like a Dog" is a classic! Putz, the Valda is a huge bass, the beginning of this music recalls very Iron Maiden and 'Valda Harris' work is a fucked up! Bangeie before falling! His neck is getting sore! Also included is the tri ground quickly, it thrashaiada the fuck! And with an intro from the movie "Shade and Darkness" begins "Tsavo - The Place of Slaughter", music that speaks of films, one of the two lions killers. This music is thrash in the shaft, with plenty of aggression. To calm the listener got "Njord Hymn," instrumental sound very interesting. Now we have another demo of the song, "Big Anesthesia", Cadence and with much weight. Giving the sequence of the demo songs we have 'Cancer', a fast thrash that at the beginning has a riff that recalls the Metallica, total aggression! "Sacrificied By Mistake" is quite varied and has a wonderful land. Arrasam These guitarists and knew how to show is a metal of truth! "Doomsday" opens with a sound of sirens and falls in full speed, great music. And to end with the golden key "Eternal Sorrow," which represents everything the band does, aggressive vocals, and riffs soils much screwed, kitchen and with very precise feeling and great influence of Metallica's "Kill Em'All!" In short, this disc is perfect for those who like the true thrash metal, and please note that the singer shows the influence of those Destruction voice "yelled" the Schimier. The guys are there to show the true metal of the 80s, which will never die! Ah, the Celio Jr. guitarist left the band. Well, all right given the hint! Rhestus thrash attack! (Maicon Milk )

Embryo of the endless sands - 20/02/2004
Rainer Krukenberg, Berlim - Germany

Wow, ....what a fantastic Thrash and Power attack!! Full speed, shredding guitars and a screaming singer are the rules of this guys!! That is how good traditional Thrash has to sound!! The guys are from Timbo in the Province of Santa Catarina in the South. Their homepage is nice, but contains almost no informations about the band history! In the year 1996 they released their first demo "Had a world" and in 1999 the second "Heroes of the doomsday". The first recordings were more in the Death Metal direction, but later it became more traditional Thrash! In 2000 a song of them was released on the "Rock Soldier 4" compilation! This one is in great old DESTRUCTION style! The singer was called first Fantasma, and then Alexander Leber, but it is the same person! This guy looks totally like Zakk Wilde! With his giant blond hair he must make a big impression in Brazil! The first album, was released as independent production, and they found their own style, which contains also parts of Power Metal! This disc should be very welcome in the scene in Europe, and I wish they will get a distribution here, or a license deal!
