10º River Rock Festival - 16/08/2008
Written by Thomas Michel Antunes

10 River Rock

"Make rain or shine, this is our parade!"

This is what was written in the invitations, posters and site of the festival ... I think they knew it would rain.

A decade of River Rock ...

A festival in a small town even smaller. Not that it worked! Following the example of Woodstock *, River Rock is a festival with more than a day-long (this year were three days), camping, adding the touch of nature with the Rock, is the "festival of all tribes."

* Our little Woodstock also had rain and naked people (rain in the same amount and skinned in much smaller numbers).

Rhestus

Veteranassos the festival did a show as always do: many hair swinging, no adornment or freshness and sound pesadíssimo. But this time the spectacular was in the audience: casters, Bangers, moshs, screams ... the entire show, not stopped!

No show anything spectacular, they did the same role as always: well played guitar and low, fast drums, voice and ripped a warning pro Rock River: "So gang, an important thing ... Let's all drink! "

28/07/2004 - Resenha do show no Galpão das Artes - Itajaí - SC
One of the few stores specializing in the region Metal Valley's Iloilo had almost closed its doors in March of this year. After negotiations, Santo Neto takes the direction and with less than three months of trading, invests in his first event with the bands Syndrome (Spa Camboriú / SC), Rhestus (Timbó / SC) and Burning In Hell (Caxias do Sul-RS ). The threat of rain, cold and the slight delay did not surprise the audience of about 300 people, much of adolescents who are "giving the first steps" in the metal. The Syndrome, one of the oldest bands of Santa Catarina, with a sound resulting from the Heavy / Thrash, was the first band to present itself. Continuing the release of Turning Point demo cd, showing that music will be part of new material (although no date of release) and recalling songs of the 1st album, entitled Time Perpetuating. The drummer Felipe, a member later, was much more entrosado with other musicians. It was an excellent presentation, particularly the best entry from the Rodrigo Peplau of the voice. Started with the songs of the demo, "Beyond The Night," "Trying To Be Free" and "controller", pointing out that the live versions outperformed (and much) for the studio. The public was found to be excited and delighted with the performance of the band, which ran a still unpublished, called "Puzzle Earth." "Silence Time", ballad rather be known for playing on local radio, soften a little tired of the present. "Running Compelled" anticipates the cover of "Crazy Train" (Ozzy Osbourne) and completion is given to the classics of the 1st album, "Kill Or Die" and "Time Perpetuating." Displaying their new guitarist, Charles, the Rhestus, influenced by Kreator, Destruction, Slayer and other classics of Thrash 80s, presents the audience with songs titled debut of the Embryo of the Endless Sands. "Cancer" the beginning of the show (who no doubt was the best of the night), followed by "Big Anesthesia," "Inside The Torn Apart" and "Sacrificed By Mistake." It was amazing the amount of wheel that opened in the middle of the public Bangers and going up on stage to mosh. "Tsavo: The Place Of Slaughter" continues the section of drubbing and battery seemed to want to disassemble with the massacre of Jailson. The stage performance of the other members, including the new guitarist, increased the fury the public, discharged in the swing of the head. "Insane War" and "Bullet Point" before a cover of the metal, which was made a medley of "Am I Evil" and "Damage Inc.". Unfortunately the demands were not met in biss Since the schedule was already advanced and still lacked a band a show. With this show, the Rhestus confirms its position as one of the best bands (especially the best) of the Brazilian Thrash. Almost seven years have passed and finally the Burning In Hellamma back to the ground Itajaiense, disseminating their self-titled debut. The time has passed and the formation of the original remains the only brothers Marcelo (drums) and Leandro (vocals), which is not playing more guitar live, is responsible for almost all compositions of the album. The sound remains fast and melodic, with clear influences of Gamma Ray, as well as the 1st demo (at the time was still tape), Under My Dominate. admit that the anxiety to see them after so long was constantly this. The fire on stage and the details of the flag drew a lot of attention, but this time, the public was tired before the show and had no more energy to continue the section of moshs, still less to shake his head. The show started with " Freedom "and dissemination of the album continues with" Shadows Of The Wars "and" Forever I'll Be Here ", followed by a cover of" Somewhere In Time "(Iron Maiden), with the participation of Pike (Christmess) on vocals. The two guitarists and bassist of the band are excellent musicians, very surprising in executions, but seemed a little intimidated, what has not happened with Leandro and Marcelo. The presentation continues with "Sheding Blood Tears" and "Last Of The Dragons," surprising rather the extreme speed they play. "Painkiller" (Judas Priest) before "The End Of The World" and "Slave Of Darkness." Finally, a cover of "New Age" (Angra - performed better that the original version) and "Brave Warriors", with the participation of Rodrigo (ex-speech). Congratulations to organize the event, Santos Neto, Kid and Tino Mose.
